INTRODUCTION OF BROMINATED EPOXY RESIN
Brominated Epoxy Resin(BE or BEO)has been widely applied in electron, automobile, office equipment, household electric appliances,etc. for its good electric quality and its physical and mechanical properties. Furthermore, with its excellent melting flow rate, high efficiency of flame retardancy, good thermal and light stability, as well as the excellent mechanical properties, thus, BEO is widely used as flame retardant for PBT, PET, ABS, Nylon 66, thermoplastic polyurethane and PC/ABS plastic alloy
With high content of bromine, Brominated Epoxy Resin is especially suitable for flame retardant of the pressing board in paper base and cloth base. A series of products of Brominated Epoxy Resin can meet the inflaming retarding demands of different materials such as pouring materials, maceration materials, coating and adhesion agent and so on.
According to the structures of the terminal group, Brominated Epoxy Resin can be classified into two types: EC and EP. EP type possesses excellent weather resistance, while EC type possesses excellent thermal and light stability, good fluidity, good HDT and demolding performannce.

APPLICATION FEATURES OF BROMINATED EPOXY RESIN
● General Introduction
Brominated Epoxy Resin as flame retardant in plastics possesses many merits such as low toxicity, environment-friendly and so on. It overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional flame retardant such as low fluidity, bad compatibility, and producing brominated dihydroxyquinoline while burning. It meets the requirements of flame retardacy applied to the electron and electric appliances and automobiles,etc. Electronic Brominated Epoxy Resin is mainly used in manufacturing FR-4 steel boards and multi-layers electrical insulating boards in order to improve the function of preventing from ultraviolet rays and strengthening the fluorescence. The electronic Brominated Epoxy Resin with high purity is mainly used in the resin system with high content of Bromine and in the electronic field with high performance and high reliability.

● Application Features of Brominated Epoxy Resin

1、Non-blooming and Good Compatibility
Although the low molecular bromide compounds, such as TBBA and PBDEs, possess good property of inflaming retarding, a small amount of bromine oozies out under heating, which causes corrosion to the mould and metal contact points of electrical parts. However,KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin doesn't have such shortcomings. KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin possesses excellent compatibility with various plastics, such as PS, PBT, ABS resin, PC/ABS, PBT/ABS alloy, etc.
2、Excellent Thermal Stability
The processing temperature of engineering plastics is above 230℃, which is higher than that of general plastics. The thermal stability of low molecular weight bromide is worse than that of KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin. The decomposition temperature of KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin is above 300 ℃.And the higher the molecular weight is, the higher the decomposition temperature is.
3、 The Least Change of Chromatism(ΔE)(Diagram 1)
When various flame retardants were added into the PBT with 30% glass fiber injected to samples at 270 ℃ for 20 minutes, the Chromatism of high molecular weight Brominated Epoxy Resin was the smallest.
4、The Effect on Physical Properties of Polymers
(1)The relationship between Thermal Stability and Molecular Weight
With the increase of molecular weight of KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin, the thermal stability temperature of polymer modified material increases correspondingly
(2)The relationship between Mechanical Strength and Molecular Weight
With the increase of molecular weight, KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin has smaller water absorption, better thermal deformation temperature and higher impact strength on PC/ABS.
(3)Excellent Weather resistance(Diagram 2)
Because of the high requirement of color and luster protection on the appearance of instrument and equipment, the change of the plastics chromatism filled flame retardant is great important. Diagram 2 shows the yellowing of ABS resin after adding different flame retardants and comparing the sample with the original sample (ΔE). The diagram shows that DBDPO and TBBA are more yellowing than Brominated Epoxy Resin, KBE bromide,thus Epoxy resin has good weather resistance.
5、Excellent Mixture Capability with Other Resins
In order to make the resin have effective flame retardancy, the bromine content must reach 13-15%, and the bromine content of KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin can reach above 53%. Therefore, KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin can be mixed with many other resins to maintain effective flame retardancy and obtain better flexibility or other properties, so that it is more favorable to melting and mixing.

melt flow rate.

KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin is a high molecular polymer. It is almost non-toxic when granulated or burned. However, the toxicity of commonly used low molecular weight bromides, such as DBDPO and TBBA can not meet the requirements.
● Application Method
General flame retardants are generally mixed or filled. The flame retardant components are dispersed in plastics in physical state, which will degrade the performance of the products when the demand is large. KBE Brominated Epoxy Resin is a reactive flame retardant, and the flame retardant is eventually combined into the macromolecular chain of other resins, thus the flame retardant stability is good and it is not easy to disappear.

PACKING
Solid brominated epoxy resin : lined with paper-plastic composite bag, net weight 25 kg, It can also be packed according to customer requirements.
Liquid brominated epoxy resin: 25 kg, 50 kg, 100 kg, 200 kg galvanized iron drum.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Brominated epoxy resin is steady under normal conditions, so the product should be placed in a ventilated and dry place with closed container or tied pocket. Solid brominated epoxy resin is stored and transported according to non-toxic and non-hazardous chemicals. Liquid brominated epoxy resin should avoid direct sunlight exposure, keep away from fire sources and store and transport as dangerous goods.
ATTENTION POINTS WHILE USING
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and do not allow inhalation of dust or solution. Wear work clothes, gloves, goggles and masks when using this product.
INTERPRETATION OF THE MARK
For example:
KBE-2025K :Kaiji BEO of EP type ,uncapped, engineering plastic field,with a molecular weight of about 25000.
KBE-3020: Kaiji BEO of EC type,end-capping,engineering plastics field,with a molecular weight of about 2000.
For example:
KJB-400: BEO produced by Kaiji,The epoxy equivalent is 380-420.
